The Island Experience

This experience was made for women who’ve always felt something when they see a horse — whether that’s a lifelong equestrian who misses that connection, or someone who’s simply admired them from a distance and always wondered what it would feel like to be close. You don’t need a specific background or skill level. If you’re visiting Hawaiʻi and want to bring home an experience that goes beyond the usual tourist itinerary, this was made for you.

We’ll start with a relaxed introduction — you’ll meet the horses, get comfortable, and we’ll go over outfit options from the client closet before we head to the beach. Once we’re on location, I’ll guide you through the whole thing. There’s no rushing. We move at a pace that feels good for you and the horses, and I’m directing you the entire time so you’re never standing there wondering what to do. By the end, most clients tell me it flew by.

Not at all. The Island Experience was designed to be accessible to anyone who feels drawn to horses, regardless of background. Whether you’ve never been near a horse in your life or grew up in the saddle, I’ll meet you exactly where you are and build the session around you.

As hands-on as you want to be. For most clients, the session involves walking alongside, posing with, and simply being close to the horses — which is its own kind of magic. If you have riding experience and are comfortable, we can incorporate that too. Either way, this is an intimate encounter, not a staged photo op. You’ll actually feel it.

That’s more common than you’d think — and honestly, it’s part of what makes this experience so meaningful for a lot of women. We take the introduction slow, and my assistant is there specifically to help with horse handling so you can focus on just being present. Horses are remarkably intuitive animals. Most clients who arrive nervous leave having had the most unexpectedly moving experience of their trip.

You don’t need to stress about this one. Every session includes access to my client closet, stocked with a curated selection of outfits and props chosen specifically for this setting. I’ll also help you with styling, and send over my style guide to help you curate your looks. If you have something special you want to wear, bring it — but you’re covered either way. I’d recommend comfortable shoes you don’t mind getting sandy, or you can go barefoot. Beyond that, just bring yourself.

All sessions take place on the beach here on Oʻahu. There’s a reason I chose this setting — the light, the water, the mountains in the background. It’s unlike anywhere else, and it makes for photographs that are genuinely hard to believe you’re actually in.
